Join us to discuss programs under the FQHC umbrella that seek to adderss the gaping holes in our nation's safety net. August 18: Eat food, not too much, mostly vegetables Food like substances have come to dominate the western diet. These substances are often recombinations of basic chemicals extracted from corn, soybeans and salt. The consequences for our health are devastating. Join our dialog about real food and the fight to save the western diet. September 15: Back to School: How Health Affects Education Some children thrive in school while others struggle or fail. Health plays a critical role in providing children with the capacity to participate in learning. Hunger, malnutrition, pain, low-energy or excessive energy and a myriad of health problems reduce children's ability to learn and have life long consquences.
