September 19: Prostate Health

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness month. Prostate Cancer is second only to skin cancer in prevalence. In 2012 an estimated 241,740 new cases will be diagnosed and about 28,170 men will die from prostate cancer (American Cancer Society, 2012) Fortunately most men diagnosed with prostate cancer will not die from it. Join us to learn about the science of prostate cancer, prevention, testing and treatment.

Dr. Sturrock received his training at Dartmouth Medical School. He moved to Maine with his family in 1990 after serving with the Indian Health Service and joined Norumbega Medical in 1996. Dr. Sturrock has held several teaching appointments at the University of Maine and Tufts University. His special interests include dermatology and outpatient surgery.
