October, 2006 Common Health: Global Climate Change

There is a growing consensus that global climate will be the single biggest threat to human health and safety this century. A two foot rise in sea level would flood the 30 percent of the world's population that lives within 30 miles of the coastline, contaminate freshwater supplies and damage delta ecosystems. Climate change is more than flooding, and includes desertification, spikes in storm activities.
