Violence takes many forms and claims many lives. The United States has a particularly violent history and continues to have among the highest rates of violence of any developed country in the world. While the US murder rate has dropped in half over the last decade, we are, or rate of 4.8 per 1,000 population is triple the rate for Canada. Iceland's murder rate is a mere o.3.

Join our dialogue about ways to reduce the level of violence in society, from media to Main Street. We invite your calls and email with questions, comments and ideas for making our lives more peaceful..
