December 15, 2010 Winter Fitness

Between Thanksgiving and New Years holiday feasting and winter-inspired inactivity put many a bathroom scale into uncharted territory. Even as we put on weight, our spirits may sag with less daylight, less fresh air and an inclination to recline.

It need not be this way. Winter in Maine, even our warmer and soggier winters, are an opportunity to see nature undisturbed by crowds of tourists. We can discover new indoor and outdoor fitness activities and build walking, dance and other exercise into our daily lives.

Join us as we look for ways to keep fit when the beaches are clothed.

We invite your calls and email with questions, comments and personal stories about substance abuse and ways we can prevent it.
